Wednesday/Thursday Class: IXL

Each day we begin class with 15 minutes of reading- They are to read their Independent Reading books that should be reading and grade-level appropriate.

IXL is the ultimate adaptive learning environment, free of distractions and packed with meaningful challenges. On IXL, success is earned through hard work and genuine understanding of each concept, and every student is empowered to achieve mastery. The result is an experience that nurtures confident learners, building fluency in fundamental skills in preparation for a lifetime of learning. With this program, I am offered Analytics Data, where I can easily pinpoint exact item types students are struggling with, track class progress toward meeting state standards, identify areas for improvement, and more. Visit the website and watch the introductory video at: www.ixl.com

Friday Class: Grammar

Each day we begin class with 15 minutes of reading- They are to read their Independent Reading books that should be reading and grade-level appropriate.

After reading, I will be teaching the class about proper grammar, breaking it down and teaching them in a step by step manner, beginning with teaching nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. We will continue onto sentence structure and punctuation in an appropriate timeframe.

They will also be given the option to occasionally play grammar games that are associated with each lesson taught that day.
