                                                                Projects:

1. What is Leadership? Marshmallow Challenge

- The Marshmallow Challenge is an activity that requires them to take on different leadership roles within the group. They will use this experience to talk about what it means to be a leader and what it means to be a part of a team. They will use this knowledge as they begin designing their leadership plan in creating a marshmallow tower only using certain items in a team challenge. Students will have a day for reflection on what went well in the challenge and what they could've done better to be a better leader/teammate in their groups.

2. Hero Classmates

- Students will be asked to fill out a hero sheet about three students in their class that they picked out of a hat. After they've written down the attributes, students will sit in a circle and share what they've said about one another. It is a day to honor each other for the positive people they are.

3. Defining Honesty and Integrity

- I will do an experiment involving two bags of M&M's. What would happen if you went to the grocery store and got a bag filled with something else? This will then open the discussion on what honesty and integrity mean and how it can be shown by each of us. We will run through scenarios where students should agree/disagree on whether integrity was shown or not. Students will be writing a reflective piece about a time where they showed integrity and did the right thing when no one was watching.

4. Leadership Quotes

- Students will find a quote about leadership, teamwork, honesty, or integrity that stands out to them and means something to them. From there, they will create a design for the quote which, once approved, will go onto the windows in the classroom.

5. Leadership Class Poster

- As a class, we will create a poster that will feature designs from each student showing one leadership quality and characteristic they possess as well as their handprint next to it. This poster will be hung up in the hallway.

6- Leader/Hero Essay

- Students will be writing an essay following the essay guidelines they've learned in English class and create a presentation for the class on their views of what it means to be a hero and how a hero can be a leader. In this assignment, they are to select someone they consider to be a hero and explain why and how this person is a hero/leader within the essay. After the writing assignment, they are to use the information gathered to work and create a presentation and poster for the class explaining who they chose and why they were chosen.

7. Micrography Portrait

- Students will be creating a micrography portrait of themselves. They will begin by tracing the major outlines of their face (from a picture provided on school tool). From there, they are to use a tracing light to trace the major outlines onto a final paper. They are to fill each line out with leadership characteristics, character traits,  and things they like. Once done, they will attach their pictures to colored construction paper and will be hung up in the hallway.

8. Creating School-Wide Activities

- Students will be split into groups of two. In these groups, I would like them to come up with three ideas of activities/projects we could do as a class within our school to make the building a more inviting and welcoming place to be. Students will need to give details about each idea and provide a supply list that will be needed in order to complete some of these projects.

9. Newspaper Silhouette

- For this project, we are going to draw each student's silhouette, using a projector and tracing the shadow it produces onto a sheet of paper. From there, they are to completely fill the silhouette with words that describe who they are and what they like, using only magazine clippings.
